We are a free program, fully funded by the Government of New Brunswick’s Department of Health.

Your Health Coach will work with you to find a space in the community that works for you and your schedule. Some examples of spaces might be a coffee shop, a library, an office space in a health clinic, or maybe even a walking meeting along a local trail! In Grand Falls the Health Coach has an office space available at 475 Terrace Street.

No Health Coaches are not therapists or counselors. They are a non-judgmental support who help link clients with community resources and supports, including those related to mental health/social supports. We have training in crisis and suicide intervention and strong community partnerships with mental health groups and associations. Health Coaches are a bridge between clients recognizing they need support and finding that support.

No referral necessary! Anyone can work with a Health Coach!

Absolutely! Many people enjoy the support of working with other people on their wellness goals, and Health Coaches are more than happy to accommodate group coaching sessions.

Health Coaches offer a range of fun workshops. We work with groups on self care, goal setting, stress and motivation in a variety of ways. We work with different groups to organize “Walk and Talks” where we discuss healthy behaviours while on a group walk. No pressure to work 1:1 with a Health Coach, just a way to engage community members in healthy behaviours and get outside!

Yes! While a Health Coach is not a replacement for a health care professional (like a physician, nurse, dietitian, physical therapist, etc.) they can act as bridge between recommended lifestyle changes and a patient taking action! Health Coaches can fill the gap, by spending the extra time supporting and navigating clients through the stages of behaviour change.
